Fostering & Adoption DBS

When fostering a child, carers take on a huge responsibility, and providers have to be 100% certain that foster carers are suitable for looking after young and vulnerable children.

What type of DBS do you need?

When fostering or adopting DBS checks become a vital factor of safeguarding for agencies with young and vulnerable children in their care. We know it can be difficult to know which DBS check you’ll need, but look no further as eSafeguarding has the answer.

Fostering and adopting falls under regulated activity with children, meaning you must have an Enhanced DBS check with a Childs’ Barred List check. Also, any members of your household aged 18 years or over must have the same checks completed as well.
